Simon Earle
CEO
Simon joined METL as Operations Manager in August 2010 and was appointed CEO in June 2012. Prior to this, Simon held senior management roles in large corporate organisations in the insurance, finance and recruitment industries. His substantial skills in human resources, training, and project management have been integral to the development and success of METL. Simon’s professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Education, a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, Certificate II in Maritime Operations and an AMSA Certificate of Safety Training.

Kevin Hunt
Operations Officer
In his role as Operations Officer, Kevin draws on extensive experience in customer support, sales and training for organisations such as Australia Post in WA and RBS group in the finance sector in Ireland. While living on Christmas Island, Kevin was Senior Training Officer for Indian Ocean Group Training Association. In this role, he enjoyed the challenging logistics and rewarding results of helping people build on their existing skills – a continuing feature of his role with METL. Kevin studied a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Murdoch University in Western Australia and holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.

Hannan El-Kabbout
GTO Officer

Hannan El-Kabbout started her careers as a Business Cert III Trainee with a Group Training Organisation in 2009. After completing her certificate, she decided to further her knowledge and skills by undertaking a Financial Services (bookkeeping) Certificate IV. After successfully completing both certificates, Hannan then went on the start with METL as an Administration Officer in April 2014 and was soon promoted to GTO Administration Officer, which was an exciting step up in her career. "It's great to be a part of the METL team, to help individuals in their career who, like myself, strive to gain experience in the workplace and gain a qualification".


Ruth Kirley
Admin and Marketing Officer

Ruth joined the team in August of 2014 as Administration Officer, having completed a Bachelor of Business with the University of Newcastle in 2013. Ruth also holds a   Certificate II in Information Technology and a Diploma of Business from Hunter TAFE. Ruth has a varied role which includes the implementation of METL’s marketing strategy, assisting trainees, liaising with host employers and partner organisations and general administrative duties. In November 2016, Ruth moved into the role as Admin and Marketing Officer, taking on a greater responsibility for the corporate brand.

 

Rob Simm
RTO Operations Manager

Rob Simm commenced with METL as RTO Operations Manager in November 2015. Rob began his career as a Seafarer in 1988, before moving into a Maritime Lecturer’s role in March of 2008. Less than a year later he became the Course co-ordinator for Integrated Ratings at Challenger Institute of Technology (Maritime) in Western Australia. Rob is a proud third generation seafarer, with a deep passion for education and training in the maritime sector. He has been fortunate enough provide advice on maritime training and education packages nationally, and also been involved in the review of government policy (Navigation Act, NSCV, and Harmonisation). Rob’s professional qualifications include a Certificate III in Marine Operations, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WA).
