MAR20116 Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Linesperson)
COURSE OVERVIEW: This qualification is suitable for people working in the maritime industry as a Linesperson engaged in a range of tasks in mooring and unmooring operations.
COURSE DURATION: 12-18 months from enrolment dependant on existing level of experience. Approximately 628 hours which includes all learning and assessment activities much of which is completed on the job.

Qualification Requirements
This qualification focuses on the skills required to work within the Maritime Industry Lines divisions. To be awarded this entry level Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Linesperson), competency must be achieved in the following units:

Eligibility for Enrolment:
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) arrangements
Recognition of prior learning is available for highly experienced entrants however applicants will be required to demonstrate they are currently competent against the unit of competency standard. Credit transfer is applied when a unit of competency has been awarded by another RTO that is the same as a unit the Learner is enrolled to complete.
The job of a linesperson is a high-risk occupation so the assessment processes must be undertaken on the job. This combines testing knowledge and evidence of compliance to employers and against site and industry safety standards for each unit of competency. Assessment will consist of knowledge testing, on-the-job assessment, case studies and simulations for each unit of competency.
Dress Requirements:
As the training and assessment is conducted onsite/in the workplace, the appropriate dress and PPE as per the workplace should be observed.
Upon successful completion, METL will issue participants with a nationally recognised Certificate II for MAR20116 in Maritime Operations (Linesperson) providing all fees owing to us have been paid.
For individual participants, full payment for the course must be made at the time of booking. For paying employers, payment is due at course completion. Both payment types are as per METL Terms and Conditions.
If you are unable to attend the course, METL must be notified seven working days prior to course start date. A cancellation fee of 50% will be incurred to the parties who do not inform METL of any non -attendances within the required timeframe.
